Day 1: Arrival and transfer

On your arrival at Kigali international airport, you will be welcomed by our safari guide/driver who will brief you about the safari and later he will transfer you to hotel

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: City tour and transfer to volcanoes national park

Depending on your arrival time, you will be meet and greeted by our safari tour guide, who will take you for a Kigali city tour if you arrival in Kigali in time. Places to visit include the Kigali genocide memorial site in Gisozi, local handicraft market, national museum among others if time allows, enjoy lunch enroute and later you will embark on a two hours’ drive to the northern part of Rwanda and finally to volcanoes national park in Ruhengeri Musanze district, arrive in the evening as you wait for the most interesting activity gorilla tracking.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Tracking

Wake up early for a cup of tea or coffee to warm you up, and later you will be transferred to the park headquarters to receive short briefings by the park wardens/ senior ranger guide and also gets you allocated to the gorilla family in respect to your physical abilities. After briefing, the ranger guide will transfer you to the starting point to begin the search of our close cousins who shares almost 97% of human genes, this is a breathtaking experience on should not love to miss in the life time. Gorilla tracking time is unpredictable it can go from 1-7 hours since meeting them depends on where they last seen the previous day, so a reasonable degree of fitness is needed as well as tracking gears like sturdy pair of walking shoes boots.

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking

A breakfast is followed with a transfer to the park headquarters to receive short briefings about the dos and don’ts s while with the chimps and also gets you assigned to the ranger guide. After, you will follow the ranger guide to the forest to begin the search of our cousins who shares almost 98% of human genes. Chimps are tremendous fun to watch as they squabble and play in fruitful trees.

The incredible diverse forest is a home to over 13 species of primate, other species expected to see during the search of chimps include the black and white colobus monkey, baboons, civet monkey, mona monkey, grey mangabey, black faced vervet monkeys among many others. chimp tracking may go from 1-6 hours and ounce they are met, you strictly allowed one hour with them while studding as well as taking photos (flash cameras are not allowed).
