4 Days Gorilla & Golden Monkey Tracking Tour

Day 1: City tour and transfer to volcanoes national park

Depending on your arrival time, you will be meet and greeted by our safari tour guide, who will take you for a Kigali city tour if you arrival in Kigali in time. Places to visit include the Kigali genocide memorial site in Gisozi, local handicraft market, national museum among others if time allows, enjoy lunch en-route and later you will embark on a two hours’ drive to the northern part of Rwanda and finally to volcanoes national park in Ruhengeri Musanze district, arrive in the evening as you wait for the most interesting safari activity gorilla tracking. Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Tracking (volcanoes national park)

After breakfast, drive to the park headquarters to receive short briefings by the park wardens/ senior ranger guide. And also gets you allocated to the gorilla family in respect to client’s physical abilities. After briefing, the ranger guide will transfer you to the starting point to begin the search of our close cousins.  Gorilla tracking time is unpredictable as the time to meet these giants depends on where they last seen the previous day, so a reasonable degree of fitness is needed as well tracking gears like strong pairs of walking shoes/boots.

It’s a breathtaking moment to sit among the gorillas listening to them grumble to each other, it’s an extraordinary feeling sitting in the forest knowing you are with a few of the last remaining mountain gorillas, Mountain gorillas are endangered – there are an estimated 1,063 in the wild according to the latest census results . Upon spotting them one hour is allowed to stay with these animals while taking photography as well as imitating their calls. after this experience return to the point where your vehicle is stationed so as to transfer you back to the lodge and later you may go for nature walk to Lake Ruhondo and Burera (Optional)/ take a community walk to the near community of banyarwanda and meet the batwa. Day 3: Golden monkey tracking

Relatively early breakfast to give you energy for tracking, after you will report to the park headquarters to receive short briefings about golden monkey tracking , after follow the ranger guide to the forest to begin the search of these beautiful monkeys. Meanwhile, these monkeys are regarded one of the most interesting primate species to track and are considered one of the most beautiful primates on earth. The time taken to track these animals is unpredictable as it depends on where they spent their last night from,  however it can form 1 -8 hours so a reasonable degree of physical fitness is needed as well as sturdy pair tracking shoes/boots. Golden monkeys are tremendous fun to watch when jumping from tree to tree,  like mountain gorillas, one hour is allowed to stay with them ounce they are met. Day 4: Transfer back to Kigali.

Wake up for a hearty breakfast and after embark on the transfer back to Kigali. If you missed the first Kigali city tour, go for a city tour and visit places like Gisozi genocide memorial site. After, transfer to the airport for your departure flight to the next destination
